The 7th Grade Music Appreciation class travels back to the beginnings of music as we learn about historical composers and various musical eras like Medieval, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century music that have all had an impact on today's music. Students will gain an appreciation of historical music as it relates to culture and society, and how current, popular music has been influenced by these musical eras and composers. Upon completion of this unit, students will spend the second half of the term studying the effect that music has on movies as we learn about film scoring and popular film composers.
